Our St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica School Student Council officer board represented our campus at this year’s Catholic Advocacy Day in Austin, TX.
This annual day of advocacy serves as an opportunity for our Catholic community (Catholic Diocese of Beaumont) to unite with all Catholics across the state and voice our public policy concerns in conjunction with the Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops
Along with attending a rally on the front steps of the Capitol with Catholic school students from all over the state, our Student Council President, Jeffery Martin, and our Student Council Vice President, Chiamaka Nwaobi had the opportunity to deliver testimonial in favor of, and against, payday lending during a student-led mock hearing.
